Where research brings the past back to life
Located in the former Carabinieri station, the Excavation and Restoration Laboratory is a centre of excellence, inaugurated in 2010 and equipped with modern facilities for the conservation and restoration of archaeological finds.
Here, specialised training programmes, university courses and internships take place, involving students and researchers from all over the world.
The “open excavation” experience also allows citizens and visitors to observe archaeologists at work, transforming the visit into a unique moment of learning and discovery, and creating a bridge between the community, academia and historical memory.
